The Joys of Sin

Okay so maybe sin is technically a bad thing, but it is not without its perks. I mean there must be a reason we all keep doing it? Why would we risk everything for it if there was no payoff. After all, we are rational people. And at the end of the day you are the only one who really knows what is best for you.

So what are the benefits of sin? I have listed just few below. This is brought to us courtesy of Ezra: renowned Jewish priest and scribe.

Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
‭‭Ezra‬ ‭9:7‬

Benefits

  • Sword: death and destruction
  • Captivity: bondage and exile
  • Spoil: loss, being robbed
  • Confusion of face: shame and humiliation

So the next time someone is on your back about your “mistakes” or your “idiosyncrasies”, you can clue them to the profit of sin. But honestly, I don’t know why we bother. There is just no convincing some people. They will never understand. But we get it, and sometimes that has to be enough.
